Chronicle (2012)

While three high school friends explore a forest, they discover a mysterious hole in the ground. After going inside and examining the hole, they unexpectedly attain superpowers. Initially, the three friends naively experiment with their newly acquired powers, but when one of them grows too strong and begins to abuse his powers, he goes spiraling out of control and many innocent lives are put in grave danger...
Chronicle is unquestionably one of the most inventive superhero movies of all time. The creative plot develops remarkably well. Writer Max Landis creates an original story that contains drama, sympathy, and amusement. Most of the movie is spent on developing characters, but the end of the film is action packed. I, for one, was definitely not disappointed with Chronicle. My girlfriend was obviously not as thrilled, since she fell asleep about half way through the movie. If you enjoy superhero movies and appreciate creativity and originality, Chronicle will be a pleasant surprise for you. However, if you dislike first-person movies (e.g. Blair Witch Project, Cloverfield, Quarantine), I would highly recommend staying away.

Welcome!

Hi everyone,
This blog is for anyone who loves movies. I frequently see movies in theaters and I will be writing reviews based on my experience. I will also assign the movie a grade. Feel free to comment and share your thoughts. If you have any recommendations, just let me know. Hopefully I can give you some insight on which movies to see and which movies to pass on.
Thanks,
Steve

My Favorite Movie Quotes

  • "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer."- Michael Corleone, The Godfather Part II
  • "Shit... You shoot me in a dream, you better wake up and apologize. "- Mr. White, Reservoir Dogs
  • "So in the end, was it worth it? Jesus Christ. How irreparably changed my life has become. It's always the last day of summer and I've been left out in the cold with no door to get back in. I'll grant you I've had more than my share of poignant moments. Life passes most people by while they're making grand plans for it. Throughout my lifetime, I've left pieces of my heart here and there. And now, there's almost not enough to stay alive. But I force a smile, knowing that my ambition far exceeded my talent. There are no more white horses or pretty ladies at my door. "- George Jung, Blow
  • "Spartans! Ready your breakfast and eat hearty... For tonight, we dine in hell! "- King Leonidas, 300
  • "Well dreams, they feel real while we're in them, right? It's only when we wake up that we realize how things are actually strange. Let me ask you a question, you, you never really remember the beginning of a dream do you? You always wind up right in the middle of what's going on. "- Cobb, Inception
  • "What" ain't no country I've ever heard of. They speak English in What? "- Jules, Pulp Fiction
  • "When you join my command, you take on a debt. A debt you owe me personally. Each and every man under my command owes me one hundred Nazi scalps. And I want my scalps. And all y'all will git me one hundred Nazi scalps, taken from the heads of one hundred dead Nazis. Or you will die tryin'. "- Lt. Aldo Raine, Inglorious Basterds
