This list is not in any particular order. I find it hard to pick one movie as my all time favorite because there are so many genres. Here is a list of my top 20-25 movies of all time. I also included some of my favorite Comedy and Animation movies. I tend to classify those differently than the rest.

My favorite movie BY FAR is Shawshank Redemption. It's the only movie I can watch and get emotional over every time. And of course, Good Fella's comes in a close 2nd!
ReplyDeleteI actually thought about both of those when I was making the list. Its hard to make a cutoff, but those are both great movies. In my opinion, they without a doubt fit in the same category as all of these movies. If you haven't seen 127 hours, it is pretty emotional...Not touchy-feely emotions but it definitely brings out emotion.
ReplyDeleteThe first two god fathers, rio bravo, appocalypse now really need to be in that top 25
ReplyDeleteI thought of Apocalypse Now and decided to leave it off.It is definitely in my top 30. I have not seen Rio Bravo but I will have to check it out. I obviously thought of the Godfather I and II while make this list but decided to leave them off. Personally, I think they are great movies but a little boring at times. Ill watch them again. It has been a while. Scarface was another one I had to leave off. But the next 6 after these would probably be The Godfathers, Scarface, Shawshank Redemption, Goodfellas, and Apocalypse Now. I figured those would be brought up by somebody.
ReplyDeleteApocalypse now and the first two godfathers should not even be compaired in the same paragraph as shawshank redemption it is a good movie but most deffinetly is not compairable the first two godfathers have 5 of the greatest actors of all time and 4 in same sceene multiple times and the only movie that deneiro won an oscar for speaking another languge no other movie has that they should be number one
ReplyDeleteI will agree with you the the Godfathers and Apocalypse Now are both great movies, but my personal opinion is that they are a little slow and boring. I will have to watch both again. Its been many years since I have seen them. But I know critically, The Godfather's are considered top 5 universally. I am not taking anything away from them. Just my opinions. I like a little more actions, although i love dialogue in Tarantino movies. Perhaps when I watch them again, I will have a new found favorite.
